Reigniting the SPARK
As photographers, we can sometimes get in a bit of a creative slump. Especially over winter as there’s not many people wanting outdoor photo shoots - UNDERSTANDABLE.
Last year I was really sick of photographing things indoors like flat lays etc. so as March rolled around and the days became that bit longer, a trip to the zoo was what I needed.
Now, let me tell you, it got me out of my creative rut. I brought along my big 70/200mm lens and my WORD did I have so much fun photographing the animals up close. Not only was it such a nice day , I mean who doesn’t like going to the zoo, but it was a type of photography I’d never tried before! I was CHUFFED with the results, let’s just say that! I think it was so fun because there was ZERO pressure to actually get good photographs but also, photographing wild animals is a bit of a challenge, especially when they’re grumpy. My favourite photo is the cover of this blog, the Giraffe. Having the sky cloudy but bright meant it just lit up the Giraffe and it meant I could photograph the most beautiful details of him. To this day, I am MEGA proud of that image.
So, the moral of this blog is, if you are dying to get your camera out but don’t know what to photograph, get yourself to the zoo/ a wildlife park!
